Welcome to the Alumni Magazine

This September, I began my tenure as the eighth President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Windsor. In just a short time, I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting many of our impressive and accomplished alumni.

The start of a new academic year brings renewed energy to campus, and this year is no exception. From exciting Welcome Week events to the steady rhythm of foot traffic going from one class to the next, there is a strong sense of community here. For me, the region lends itself to a truly unique campus experience — from Windsor’s milder climate to its beautiful nature trails and the view looking north across the river to Detroit — I am learning to appreciate the nuances of this place.

As partners and community connectors, you continue to play an important role in the University of Windsor’s future. Your contributions, leadership and ongoing support are essential as we move forward as an institution. As a sector, universities have faced profound challenges in recent years — from global health crises to shifting economic and societal landscapes. Yet, UWindsor has continued to rise — earning international recognition, expanding its research impact and deepening its commitment to equity, sustainability and innovation.

Having led through similar challenges throughout my career, I’m committed to guiding the University with transparency, purpose and collaboration. I see this moment as a tremendous opportunity to reimagine how the University of Windsor serves our communities.

As we look ahead, I invite you to stay engaged through mentorship, collaboration and participation in campus events and initiatives. I look forward to connecting with many more of you in the months and years ahead.
