Telling Our Story

The recognition and perception of a brand is highly influenced by its visual presentation and by the story it recounts.

Telling the University of Windsor story successfully requires the thoughtful and correct use of its brand elements. A brand’s strength is in the consistent and proper application of its logo usage, colours, typography, talking points and more.

This brand guide will help us tell the University of Windsor’s story in a unified and impactful way. Adherence to these guidelines by University staff, faculty, students, partners and vendors will ensure strong brand recognition and identity in promotional materials as well as in external and internal communications

Our History

The story of the University of Windsor began in September of 1857, when the first students arrived to study at its predecessor, Assumption College. In the 160+ years since, the small Roman Catholic college gave rise to a comprehensive, teaching and learning university. In 1963, it affiliated with Essex College, Canterbury College, Iona College and Holy Redeemer College to incorporate as the University of Windsor, a non-denominational, autonomous, degree-granting institution.

More than 16,000 students now attend the University of Windsor, and its growing alumni family boasts more than 150,000 members.
